Overview
Overview
Silver Beach, also called Crystal Bay or Thong Takhian, is a compact cove on Koh Samui’s east coast between Chaweng and Lamai. The beach is framed by large granite boulders, with pale sand and clear turquoise water giving it a more secluded feel than Samui’s longer beaches.
The sandy middle section is good for swimming when conditions are calm, while the rocky edges can be good for snorkeling. Because the beach is small, it can feel busy once more visitors arrive.

What to expect
What to expect
Expect a small, photogenic bay rather than a long open beach. The central sandy section is best for swimming, while granite boulders along the edges create good scenery and some snorkeling opportunities. Restaurants and resorts sit close to the beach, but the cove still feels more intimate than Chaweng or Lamai.
SamuiDeals Tip
Go in the morning for clearer water and fewer people. High tide is generally better for swimming, and the small parking area can fill up quickly.
